    WE run Apache web servers over Linux (UNIX).

  2. What else to I need to obtain web hosting services?
    All you need is access to a computer and connection to the internet. That is all that is required..

  3. Does iFastWeb.com support and offer ASP hosting?
    Yes. Most of our servers run chillisoft. Even though we have an exclusively UNIX environment, you still can run ASP files with chillisoft.

  4. Does iFastWeb.com offer 24 hour technical support?
    Yes! We offer 24 x 7 x 365 support via email, and telephone support.

  5. What kind of connection does iFastWeb.com have to the Internet backbone?
    iFastWeb.com is connected to the internet backbone via various Tier 1 providers.     Network connections and Internet access connections are carried into our data center via multiple carriers using physically diverse, very high speed fiber optic networks for very reliable and virtually unlimited bandwidth.

    At this time iFastWeb.com does not lease out its servers to resell.

    iFastWeb.com's minimum server configurations are Dual Intel Pentium II or Pentium III machines with Ultra wide SCSI HDD. Unlike many other web hosts that use the inexpensive, unreliable IDE drives, our Ultra wide SCSI hard drives ensure superior server performance and reliability.

    iFastWeb.com offers the Akopia Cart. Akopia Cart is a high-end professional easy to use cart program that comes with all iFastWeb.com plans. Akopia Cart is a browser-based storefront and catalog development tool that integrates cataloging, product maintenance, category management, shopping basket, order and credit card processing. The software is organized as a series of modules that can be field-upgraded to provide new functionality without any changes to the core system.
  9. Can I securely accept credit card information through my web site?
    If you order our Bronze Plan (or above), or any of our ecommerce plans, you have free access to our secure server running SSL (secure socket layer). This allows visitors to your site to submit credit card information to you with confidence, knowing that it is being transmitted safely and securely through the Internet.

  10. Is it possible to process credit card transactions in real time?
    For real-time credit card transaction processing, we recommend our Ecommerce Plan.
    You need three things to process the credit card payments in real time:

    1) A merchant account
    2) A real-time credit card processing account
    3) A shopping cart that supports your choice of a real-time credit card processing solution.

    MySQL is also supported as an option on our UNIX plans.


  12. Do you offer any ready-to-run cgi-scripts?
    Yes, iFastWeb offers several ready-to-run cgi-scripts with our Gold plan and higher. These scripts include FormMail and cgiemail (for emailing form results), Guestbook, WWWboard (bbs), and guest counter. We're always on the lookout for other reliable and popular cgi-scripts to make available to our customers.

  13. What are referral logs? Does iFastWeb.com offer them?
    Referral logs tell you the web site from which visitors reached your page. Using this information, you can tune your online advertising to maximize traffic to your site. We provide this information in the form of domain names of the referring pages (not IP addresses), making it easier to interpret and analyze.

  14. Does iFastWeb.com offer chat rooms?
    Yes, we offer Java Chat.

  15. Does iFastWeb.com allow cronjobs?
    iFastWeb.com will allow programs to run in the background. These programs will be considered on an individual basis and customers will incur extra charges based on system resources used and operational maintenance needed. If you wish to run background programs will need to contact our support staff at support@iFastWeb.com for special arrangements.


  16. Does iFastWeb.com support Microsoft FrontPage?
    iFastWeb.com will install the necessary extensions for you to use FrontPage.. FrontPage extensions are needed to enable you to publish your site with FrontPage, and to run the tools supported by FrontPage.

    iFastWeb.com does not support problems and questions directly related to the use of FrontPage itself. Instead, we will direct you to Microsoft's FrontPage Technical Support.

  17. What version of FrontPage does iFastWeb.com support?
    We support FrontPage 2002, 2000, 98 and 97.

  18. Does iFastWeb.com support third-level domains or subdomains?
    iFastWeb.com supports third level domain names with any of our web hosting packages, such as "name.yourdomain.com"; however we do not allow sub directory pointers, or subdomains.
